Biography

Dr. Leslie Chen is board certified in treatment and management of glaucoma and Lacrimal disorders thru a two-year glaucoma fellowship.  She believes in prevention of sight blinding eye diseases by early detection. Dr. Chen has dedicated most of her time for advanced training and the latest technology eye care has to offer.  Her clinical experiences include  Laser Refractive Eye Surgery and Corneal Refractive Therapy by working with thousands of patients to have their vision improved to 20/20. She operated multiple laser platforms, including the NASA-recognized LADARVision, Wavelight Allegretto, and Visx Star4 in both Northern California and here in San Diego.

Dr. Chen grew-up in San Diego where she now resides with her two daughters and her husband. Her favorite area of optometry is pediatric care, as she is a very strong advocate for the comprehensive eye care of children. She is passionate about her line of work, which is evident in the high quality of care that she provides to all of her patients and in her many achievements and recognitions within the field of Optometry. Having practiced Optometry since 2005, Dr. Leslie Chen is renowned for her dedication and commitment.

As part of her specialized training, Dr. Chen was stationed in Bethel, Alaska of the Indian Health Services where she flew village to village treating eye diseases and disorders of the Yupik people.

Dr. Leslie Chen graduated from the University of California, Irvine, & Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University.  She was trained at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia &  Naval Medical Center of San Diego. Currently Dr. Chen serves as a clinical professor for students of Doctor of Optometry for Pennsylvania & Western University College of Optometry.

Awards and Recognition:

◈ Ten Year Membership awarded in 2010 from the American Optometric Association for dedication and devotion to the profession.

 

◈ March 19th 2015 award in recognition of contribution to the clinical education of optometry students at Western University College of Optometry from 2012 to 2015.
